In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and the EU, 911 in the US). Stillwell support cannot send help, and this email address is not monitored around the clock.

To help us help you faster, please include your phone model, the Stillwell version if you know it and whether you are the person being looked after or a watcher.

Common questions

The app says protection is reduced. What should I do?

A permission is off or the phone is putting Stillwell to sleep. Open Stillwell and follow the steps it shows. On Android, allow Usage access, Physical activity and Notifications, and let Stillwell run without battery restrictions. Some phones need one more step:

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, with one difference: iPhones don't let apps see when the phone is unlocked. On iPhone, Stillwell relies on steps (Motion & Fitness), charging, opening the app and tapping "I'm OK". Keep Background App Refresh on and don't swipe Stillwell away in the app switcher. A quick daily check-in gives the best protection.

We got an alert but everything was fine.

That can happen, for example if the phone was left at home or the battery ran out. Tap "They're fine — close" to close the alert. If it happens often, adjust the daily rhythm (morning check time and the allowed silence) in the app, and check that no permission is off.

I'm going away or into hospital.

Tap Going away? on the home screen to pause Stillwell (up to 30 days at a time). Nobody is alerted while Stillwell is paused.

How do I add or remove people?

The person being looked after can invite people with the invite code, add them by phone number, change the order or remove them in Your people. Please ask people before adding their number. Anyone in the circle can also get alerts on WhatsApp: share their personal WhatsApp link from the app, and they tap it and send the ready-made message. A watcher who wants to leave can ask the person they look after to remove them, or email us.

I have a new phone.

If you linked an email ("Protect your account"), install Stillwell on the new phone, choose "I already have an account" and enter the code we email you. Without a linked email we can't restore an account, so please link one.

How do subscriptions work?

WhatsApp alerts are included on every plan. The paid plan adds text messages and phone calls. It is billed by the App Store or Google Play and renews automatically. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions; deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.

I received a Stillwell text or call and don't know why.

Someone who lives alone added your number so that you'd be told if they go quiet. If you don't want these messages, tell them or email us and we'll remove your number.

I got a WhatsApp message from Stillwell.

Stillwell writes to you on WhatsApp only after you sent the "STILLWELL" message with your code, from a link someone in a circle shared with you. That connected your WhatsApp to their circle, so you'll be told there if the person they look after goes quiet. Alerts have an I'm on it button: press it to let the others know you're handling it. To stop WhatsApp messages, reply STOP in the Stillwell chat; it works immediately. To stop text messages and calls as well, tell the person who added you or email us.

Uygulama korumanın zayıfladığını söylüyor. Ne yapmalıyım?

Bir izin kapalı ya da telefon Stillwell'i uyutuyor. Stillwell'i açıp gösterdiği adımları izleyin. Android'de Kullanım erişimi, Fiziksel aktivite ve Bildirimler izinlerini verin, Stillwell'in pil kısıtlaması olmadan çalışmasına izin verin. Bazı telefonlarda bir adım daha gerekir:

iPhone'da çalışıyor mu?

Evet, bir farkla: iPhone, uygulamaların ekran kilidinin açıldığını görmesine izin vermez. iPhone'da Stillwell adımlara (Hareket ve Fitness), şarja, uygulamanın açılmasına ve "İyiyim" dokunuşuna dayanır. Arka Planda Uygulama Yenileme'yi açık tutun ve Stillwell'i uygulama değiştiricide yukarı kaydırarak kapatmayın. Günde bir kez "İyiyim"e dokunmak en iyi korumayı sağlar.

Uyarı geldi ama her şey yolundaydı.

Kişileri nasıl ekler ya da çıkarırım?

Takip edilen kişi Seni bekleyenler ekranından davet koduyla birini davet edebilir, telefon numarasıyla ekleyebilir, sıralamayı değiştirebilir ya da çıkarabilir. Lütfen numarasını eklemeden önce kişiye sorun. Çemberdeki herkes uyarıları WhatsApp'tan da alabilir: uygulamadan o kişinin kişisel WhatsApp bağlantısını paylaşın; kişi bağlantıya dokunup hazır mesajı göndersin. Çemberden ayrılmak isteyen bir yakın, takip ettiği kişiden kendisini çıkarmasını isteyebilir ya da bize yazabilir.
